ASUS repairs Perth FAQs
Answers to the questions we hear most often about our laptop repair service in Perth. Have something else? Call us on 08 9325 1196 and a real technician will pick up.
How long does an ASUS repair take in Perth?
We start diagnosis within 2-3 hours of your ASUS reaching the bench, and most everyday repairs (screens, batteries, keyboards, SSDs) finish same day to 24 hours. Parts we don't hold, like a specific Zenbook OLED panel, usually arrive in 2-3 business days and are fitted the day they land.
What does an ASUS laptop repair cost?
Everything starts with the $85 inspection, our minimum labour charge, which covers a real diagnosis and a written quote. Typical pricing: virus and malware cleanup from $119, board-level repair from $175, liquid damage from $199, keyboards from $209, thermal service from $219, batteries from $249 and screens from $379. Data recovery is quoted after the drive is assessed.
Will an independent repair void my ASUS warranty?
Your Australian Consumer Law guarantees survive an independent repair. If your machine still has active ASUS warranty for the exact fault, we'll say so at inspection, because using it is usually your best move. Most machines we see are past their coverage window, where the question doesn't come up.
Which ASUS ranges do you work on?
All of them: Zenbook (including OLED and Duo models), VivoBook, TUF Gaming, ROG (Zephyrus, Strix and Flow), ProArt Studiobook, ExpertBook and Chromebooks. Parts are ordered against your exact model number, which matters given how many panel and battery variants ASUS ships.
Do you handle the liquid metal in ROG laptops?
Yes, and it matters. Many recent ROG machines ship with liquid metal on the CPU instead of regular paste. It transfers heat brilliantly but is electrically conductive and unforgiving to handle, and it must never be mixed with standard compounds. Our thermal service handles liquid metal machines properly, which is exactly the kind of job that shouldn't be a first-time experiment at home.
My Zenbook has an OLED screen. Can you replace it?
Yes. Zenbook OLED panels are beautiful and repairable, but they cost more than standard LCD and must be matched precisely to your model. We confirm the exact panel against your model number and quote it in writing before ordering. Screens start from $379; OLED sits above the entry price.
My ASUS stops charging at 80 percent. Is the battery faulty?
Probably not. ASUS ships a battery care mode in the MyASUS app that deliberately caps charging at 60 or 80 percent to slow battery ageing. If your battery stops at a suspiciously round number, check MyASUS first. If runtime has genuinely collapsed or the battery is swelling, that's a different story and worth a bench check.
My TUF or ROG sounds like a jet engine. Normal?
Under full gaming load, loud is normal for these machines. Loud at idle, or fans that surge up and down while doing nothing, is not. That pattern usually means dust-packed fin stacks, dried thermal compound, or a failing fan bearing, all standard bench work here. Thermal service starts from $219.
Can you recover data from a dead ASUS?
Usually, yes. If the drive survived whatever killed the laptop, we recover your files directly. Failing drives and encrypted SSDs (including BitLocker) go through our recovery lab, with recovery quoted after assessment.
Do you use genuine ASUS parts?
We fit genuine or quality-matched parts ordered against your model number, never generic near-fits. Panels match the original specification including OLED and high-refresh variants, batteries are capacity-tested before handover, and every part is itemised on your invoice with its own warranty.
Do you repair ExpertBooks and business fleets?
Yes. We handle ExpertBook and business VivoBook fleets with fast turnaround, BitLocker awareness, data preservation by default, and itemised per-asset invoicing. For multiple machines, ask about batching to stagger your downtime.
Is your work guaranteed?
Every repair leaves with a written workmanship warranty, and fitted parts carry their own manufacturer warranties on top. It's all on your invoice, so if anything isn't right, sorting it out is simple.
Where are you, and can I post my ASUS in?
We're a Perth workshop covering the whole metro area. Drop in during business hours, or post from anywhere in WA: pack it well, include your contact details and model number, and let us know it's coming. Start with the quote form or call 08 9325 1196.
Is my older VivoBook worth fixing?
Often, yes. A battery, an SSD upgrade or a proper thermal service brings most older VivoBooks back to life for a fraction of replacement cost. If the maths genuinely favours a new machine, we'll tell you straight after the inspection.
